Lauren Dean is a speech therapist and owner of Play On Words Therapy Services LLC. She is licensed in the state of Georgia and is ASHA certified. Lauren received her Bachelor of Education in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2010, and her Master of Education in Communication Sciences and Disorder in 2011 from Valdosta State University.
Lauren has worked in a variety of settings, which include school system, private practice, skilled nursing facility, home health, and acute care. All of these settings have added experience of working with many different populations, requiring various skill sets. Through all of these experiences, Lauren has found that her passion is in pediatrics. Lauren loves getting to know the children, along with their parents to better provide appropriate services. She is passionate about family education, which in turn, benefits children's overall progress throughout speech & language therapy.
Currently, Lauren lives in Hahira, GA with her husband and 2 little boys. Becoming a mother further improved her skill set by truly being able to understand a parent's concern and love for their children. She believes that parents know their child best, and is here to help navigate and advocate for their child.

A screening is used to identify whether there is a need for further evaluation. Screenings are used to quickly look at developmental speech, language, play, and social skills.
Comprehensive Evaluations
Comprehensive Evaluations
Comprehensive evaluations are conducted to determine if there are speech and/or language deficits that should be addressed. The evaluation is then used to develop an appropriate plan of care to target area(s) of need of your child.
Individual Therapy
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy sessions are tailored to individual needs of each child based on findings from the evaluation and plan of care put in place. Therapy sessions are 30 minutes in length, which include 1:1 with a speech therapist, and family education during or following the individual session.
